Leki A/S is today Europe's largest supplier of mobile accessories. How the company started.

Leki A/S history started in 2011, by Peter Nielsen & Leo Raun, under thecompany Leki Taxfree ApS.

Leki Taxfree ApS, was then a company that supplied goods for tax-free shopping, in airplanes and tax-free shops. After the financial crisis, sales were not at normal levels, so they looked for other opportunities and developed Leki Taxfree. It all started when Peter Nielsen, in January 2011, went to buy a cord for his son's iPhone in Fona in Kolding mall. The price was DKK 289, - which Peter Nielsen thought was a lot of money - just for a cord! Peter Nielsen called the company's buyer, asked if he could investigate what we should pay for cables in China and get some samples home. Peter Nielsen then spent 11 months working with samples and building strong concepts that would appeal to all consumers. The end result was the concept, which includes mobile accessories that are a need item, not just based on taste, but on quality and price alone. The idea was not to make money on just one item, but on volume sales. The concept became mobile accessories, DKK 40,- per piece or 3 pieces for DKK 100,- as it still is today.

Everything was bet on this idea, pensions were raised, everything was spent on the belief that it would succeed, no safety net was left.

The warehouse was Peter Nielsen's dining room, which puts it all in perspective, compared to today in 2023, where Leki A/S is headquartered in Vejle, with 5000 sqm warehouse and 400 sqm offices.

It went well the first years, but with many teething problems, then things went better and better every year and we got more and more out with our concept throughout Europe.

In the fall of 2018, it was natural for Peter Nielsen and Leo Raun to split up. Leo Raun continued to run Leki Taxfree ApS and Peter Nielsen founded Leki A/S, which took over everything to do with mobile accessories.Peter Nielsen got Niels Rauff Hansen into the ownership circle, so that the ownership split today is 70% to Peter Nielsen and 30% to Niels Rauff Hansen.

Then it took off, more concepts were added. There were PRO cables with a 10-year warranty, there was Leki bycph GLASS, protective glass for mobile phones in the best quality you can get, as well as Powerbanks. At the same time, it was decided that Leki A/S should be the world leader in mobile accessories, not measured by sales, but measured by Quality. Therefore, it was decided that we would create the most comprehensive quality control of our products, which Leki A/S invests millions of dollars in every year. That's why Leki A/S is the only supplier in the world that today provides a 5 & 10 year warranty on its products. In 2020, the first Leki store was opened on the main street in Aarhus, just opposite the main entrance to Salling. From day one, it was a success.
In 2022, we expanded our range to include covers for mobile phones, and at the same time we opened our second store in Kolding Storcenter in November 2022

In 2023, we are going strong with more and more B2B customers in Europe, as well as more of our own stores. Stores have opened in Vejle, Herning, City 2 Taastrup, Rosengaards Centret Odense and more are on the way.

In 2023 Leki A/S employs approx. 60 employees, the expectation is that by 2024 there will be more than 100 employees.
